On Reconstructing a Hidden Permutation

The Mallows model is a classical model for generating noisy perturbations of a hidden permutation, where the magnitude of the perturbations is determined by a single parameter. In this work we consider the following reconstruction problem: given several perturbations of a hidden permutation that are generated according to the Mallows model, each with its own parameter, how to recover the hidden...

Hidden Thresholds: Reconstructing NP Masses

The Hidden Thresholds technique reconstructs New Physics (NP) masses from two or more simultaneous NP decays at a hadron collider. We show how this works in several MSSM examples: e χi e χ 0 j → e eμμ e χ1 e χ 0 1 (i, j = 2, 3, 4) and e χ ± 1 e χ 0 2 → W ±(→ lν)e χ1 Z 0(→ ll)e χ1. At a hadron collider such as the Tevatron at Fermilab or the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN, searches for NP s...
